Last summer i got a free 71 skylark when i graduated high school. It had been setting in a field for about 6 years since the transmission went out. I Put a battery in it, a new coil, and Primed the carb with ether (bad idea, almost set the thing on fire.) and it started. Ever since, I've been a buick man. I've dumped about $5K (2500 in the motor) In the beater. It may not be the fastest thing or the prettiest thing, but it's fun and it' s different. I glad I've found places on the net loaded with people who share my love for the trishield.
Give us some more details on it! There car was white, But someone had put a green dog house on it, The passenger side door and the quarters are mostly bondo and spray paint. I recently built the motor. It's bored .030 over, 10.2:1 compression, Poston 114 Cam (about 270 duration, 470 lift, can't remember exactly) TA intake Edelbrock performer 750 carb, TA super comp headers, and a mallory optical trigger distibuter. As far as transmission goes, it's got a B&M 2200 stall converter and shift kit, and TCI Clutches. Everything else is stock. It's got the GS style Rims. The only options appear to be power Windows and A/C which is now gone. I'm 19 And only working part time so i plan to do more as i get the money. I'll post a picture of it soon.
