    Hello group,

I found this board last month and it's been very helpful and encouraging. Here's a pic of my GS340 I'm restoring. I've had it for 10 years, mostly in storage with a sick transmission. It's about to get a new SP T400 from PAE.

Also added HEI after reading about it here - dropped right in after some slight grinding. Thanks to everybody involved in that thread!

Right now I'm restoring the interior - all that's left in there is a steering wheel. Hmm.... I might need a few parts, I'll post on parts wanted (plastic speedo & heater lenses... and interior rear pillar courtesy lights would be cool...)...

Anyway I hope to visit with folks here in the future, I'm always up for anything '67 related - I would guess there are a few GS340 owners out there? And is there anyone in Montana here?

I'd really like to hear from anyone that's put disc brakes on something like this.

    Cheers,

    Peter

    "It's a GS340."
"You mean a 350." (parts guy)
    "...no, a 340."
(long pause on phone).. "..you put a mopar 340 in a Buick?!"

Hi, Helena here (part-time anyway). I've never actually seen a GS340 in person before! (But I knew they didn't have a mopar engine  ). Does it have the ST300 or a ST400?

We've got guys from Billings, Havre, and a lurker from Helena that I know of.

    Hi again,

rtabish: Thanks! Actually that's the Helena valley in the background. This was at our yearly car show here. There were only two Buicks out of say 100+ cars: a fully custom purple '61 Invicta hardtop which was gorgeous, and a '63 special hardtop which was for sale for like $12k-15k (!) and looked pretty good. That was it. Kind of a let down as a lot of the cars were from out of town and we'd hoped for more Buicks...

Love your Century. About ten years ago.. whoa, more than that.. a Century GS 455 Stage 1 showed up in town here, my brother and I tried and tried to get the guy to sell it but he suspected it was something cool and said he was going to fix it up. He moved shortly after that. Oh well. :Do No:

Boozoo: Thankyou.. one reason I joined, everybody seemed very friendly, haven't run into any nasty flame wars yet...

Adam: I think we went to HS together. When the car's back together inside (I'm por-15-ing and restoring the inside) maybe we could get together when you're in town. And no lie on that parts guy thinking I'd done something strange. I had to take engine parts back constantly because they kept slipping me mopar parts. I still have some; they stopped taking them back. I stopped shopping there. :boring:

The car has an ST-300 in it right now, but it's got problems. This is the second rebuild for it, first one lasted 6000 mi. and this one lasted 100 miles(!). The shop either can't or won't back up their work. I figured that I might as well put the money into something that'll improve the performance so I'm getting an ST-400 now.

I really need the clear dash plastic lenses for the car badly - the speedo one and the heater control panel one. If anyone can help me out.. I'd greatly appreciate it..

    Pete

    gotbuick What, me worry?

Nice 67 Pete. I have a soft spot for the 340's with the stripe like that, thanks for giving me the shot in the arm. Looks good!
