Hey all. New member, new to boards and finally have a buick that runs and is registered! I have a 72 Skylark Convertible. After a few years of tearing apart a 70 New England car, I broke down and bought one completely done. It hasn't been driven in 5+ years so I am of course fine tuning the little items with the biggest 2 left being suspension and it is a stock 72 350 175hp engine. Car is not as sold new but parts are all buicks and 98% 72.

Glad there is a forum for the other than Chevy nameplate!

    Welcome aboard Matt!

Lots's of CT people around here. Ask around to find people in your neighborhood. I know that Cark Rychlik has a 'Marcus Dairy' cruise a couple nights this summer. Hope to meet you at a local event :TU:

Enjoy the best site on the 'net!

    And one of the front.

I have the 72 Hood Crome. Just need to get the correct color on it.

These are the pictures the guy was posting to sell. I saw it before the pics. Bought a car from him before and sold him some of my 70 hardware. Fun car. Glad he responded to my sale of my 70 :)

    Ken,
I am in the Hartford Area. Other side of the river. Driven mostly in Manchester and Middletown and back. But hope to add more locations.
    Don't think it was me.

Looks good Matt:TU: My car was that color for a long time. I liked it ok, but it attracted too much attention, if you know what I mean. But seeing yours with the red paint and black top just brought back a lot of memories. Yesterday was the 14th anniversary of me buying my Buick...13 days before my 18th Birthday.

13 days AFTER my 18th Birthday, I wrapped it up good on the highway. Smacked a van. I recall sliding, slightly sideways, on the snail-trails of molten rubber I was laying with all four tires, thinking, 'That van is STOPPED! I'm gonna hit it, I'm gonna hit it, I'm not slowing down! I'm gonna hit it'
Then I hit it:grin: It's funny now . Wasn't too funny then. Didn't even get a scratch on me, it was like hitting a speedbump at 20 mph. The van was hauled away on a flatbed. I drove home and felt sick.

But I did learn all about heavy cars with four wheel drum brakes that day. And in the coming weeks, I began to learn how to fix old cars, lol

What... you don't like arrest me red? I didn't have a choice. Looks awesome - body and frame were solid, came with some extras... Even came with the smog pump.

    Ken,
Never ate there. WIll have to try. Middletown is where the buddy with the most amount of tools live. Prior to heading to the Worcester Mass summer nationals this year we had prep days and not once was someone looking for the tools the others had. One working on a P-S-T kit, another a rear end, mine - just your basic tune it up, try to get the points set, replace the vacuum advance... then tap the the striped thread for the vacuum advance... Wake up the neighbors, get dogs barking when you get the distributer on wrong after the 2nd try because the first you somehow then shorted the points in the reassemly. But yea... Ill get to o'roukes..
    How about Ellies(sp)?
