Check out the 'Da Nailhead' forum on this board. Especially before you start the engine rebuild. There's some nailhead guru's who post on there and can answer questions and help direct you.

BTW, the VIN number could be higher than the actual production number for the Riv's. My understanding is that the assembly lines produced many different models; and the production # wasn't specific to each model, just a continuous count for each line.

J-CIN15 congrats, looks like she matches.

gsman66 since the Rivs were only produced in the Flint plant I always assumed the VIN would be sequential and unique to the Riv. Learned something new. My original post has been modifed to remove the incorrect info. Thanks

dual quads for the '65 RIV w/ 425

Where do I find the carb numbers, the little aluminum carb tags that are on front & rear carbs are blank. How can I find new / rebuilt set-up. Mine are froze-up and might not be rebuildable. also... any leads on a new / refurbished gas tank & radiator.

They may be rebuildable-I've had frozen junk and sent them to the nailhead/Carter carb guru Carmen Faso and they are working great now!
Carmen 716-693-5090 The numbers are stamped on the base of the carb (looking at engine from front) front left area. These are unique to the dual quad engine, so save them if you can. Carmen makes fun of me for even trying to work on them..."good thing you didn't try anything else or you would have ruined them"

Give that baby a bath, and post some new pics!
