I sold my 1968 GS400 to free up some cash to get ready to buy a house. I had quite a few parts laying around including a fresh 464 and th400 transmission. I figured I better find a new home for them so I picked up a $500 1972 Skylark from another board member. Im hoping to have it rolling by summer time...We will see what happens.
Came with a hood, repairable inner fenders, and core support. Front fenders long gone. Still a great buy compared to some of the stuff I have fixed in the past. repaired the drivers quarter today....
Glad to hear you are happy with the car and glad to see it being fixed up. Looks like you've made a lot of progress on it already. Looking forward to seeing the finished project!
welded up "SKYLARK CUSTOM" emblem holes.....possible clone of some type in the future? we will have to wait and see what the "budget" allows.
been a while since updating......life happens! bought a house in May-finally closed and started moving in august! Still trying to get the garage set up and everything moved into it. Along with that, we had a new addition to the family tuesday night, Liliana Grace Marie! The skylark has yet to be moved but will be soon. While waiting to close, I did get a chance to put together a custom mail box. I hope to get back to the project soon. It was tough seeing everyone playing with their toys over the summer while I was in limbo waiting to move.
Congradulations ! Nice job on restoring your buick. With a home and family our Buicks often are on "the back burner" so to speak
Congrats on the new home and baby! Love your car, love the price and love the mail box too. Keep up the good work.
The weather turned to crap before I could get the skylark moved. I don't want to move It as long as the roads are covered in slush and salt. I'm hoping for a nice day in the near future so I can get it moved.ray: My new garage is quite a bit larger than I'm used to working in. I got my heat hooked up and am slowly getting set up again. I will post more as I get up and running again. I got a great deal on a rotisserie so I may end up doing a frame off on this one. I can't wait to get back at it. I enjoy doing this type of work and I truly miss it. Thanks for the compliments.
