All true. I have, however, gotten as much as; 22mpg Interstate driving. The variable pitch converter provides seamless torque increase for passing and acceleration. If, that is not enough; slip into 'Low'. (but, not over; 30mph).
Ok... I have good news... I got the trans to work....It was low on fluid..(stupid) I should have started with that. guess I shouldnt have listened to the guy I got it from...I added fluid before i even tried to do anything. It is engaging at this time very solid & now drives (although i am cautious) right now til I know for sure what is going on, .. I also do not see anything leaking at this point...
More than likely it will start to leak. You would have a RARE one if it didn't leak. If it does start try putting a pint of brake fluid in it & see what happens. All the trans. sealers contain some amount of brake fluid. Same with P/Strng. sealer.
Tom is right. Sometimes they'll leak down the torque tube. When this happens; the fluid comes out on the ground near or, at the rear end. It can cause problems with rear gears if it leaks into the gear oil.
so, I guess i will check the rear dif. oil next to see if anything is happening there..Ha..I hope I have a rare one Tom, but im sure I would not be that lucky
ok....now i want to change the single brake master cyl. to a dual master cyl. Is there one that I can put directly in there that anyone is aware of?
Because of the design you will need to find a Booster & M/Cly. assembly from another donor car. If it were myself I would start with a '67/'68 Drum brake set-up from another full size Buick. '67 was the 1st. year of the dual masters. Tom T.
funny thing i just found a 59 invicta on cl for 1800 these are are so sweet looking...59 looks mean as hell..then its like suave from fenders to rear
