It's been a couple of weeks now that I put new the new Coy's rims and tires on my car and all I can say is WOW!

I think she really pops now and I'll let you be the judge of this yourself.

Those are 18"s in the back and 17"s in the front and I've not had one single tire rub yet (even with four people in the car).

It's hard to believe but my 14" Torque Thursts would rub all the time. I opt'd for the polished rims instead of the chrome style since I thought they'd look better with the white paint.

In case you are wondering, $1450 delievered (mounted, balanced, lug nuts).

Nice!!!!!!!!!! What are the tire sizes you have on them. I need a set but they will be chrome!

Looks great! I've been looking at those Coys C-55's myself. They got my attention when they appeared on the primer Chevelle in the new Fast and Furious. They seem very reasonably priced compared to a lot of the other wheel makers out there. Did you get them direct from Coy's in Salt Lake?

I just put a set of 17's on my other car last week. Did you notice how much "firmer" and sportier the ride feels?

I love it, its like a while new car.

I've been eyeballing those on e-bay in the black center finish, which I though would look nice on my green/black vinyl roof car.

What back space did you end up with on your '65?

    Thanks,
    Brian

Hey guys, sorry for the delay getting back to you all.

    Question 1 - I decided to go with the Coy's C-5 www.coyswheel.com/index2.html

    Rear Rims - 18" - 7" - 4.25 back space General Tires Exclaim UHP P235 50
    Front Rims - 17" - 7" - 4.25 back space General Tires Exclaim UHP P225 50

Question 2 - I purchased these directly from Coy's. I worked with a guy named James and he really knew his stuff.

Question 3 - The car drives much different (but all to the better). The ride is much firmer and the car has just an more overall solid feeling.

If ever in doubt about the backspacing, take a tape measure and rest it on your drum or the stud surface of your disc and measure out to the inner lip of the wheel wheel. When you call Coy's, give them this measurement and they'll be able to figure out exactly what your offset and width can go up to.

I'm still running drums (disc brakes planned for next year) and I with the sizes mentioned above, I still have about 2" in the back and I've had no rubbing on any of the four tires yet.

    Hope this helps...

    Sweet looking Vert!

Any updates on the "combo" as far as fitment and performance goes. No issues thus far?

Phil It really *is* a 350...

Those Coys are sharp. Nothing like modern wheels and rubber. A couple weeks ago I put in a locker rear end and mounted the 275/40-17's all around and it makes a huge difference performance and handling.

No more peg-leg part throttle spins down the block. It's hook and book now!! :)

Only complaint... I need stronger windshield wipers to knock the girls off of the car.

In all seriousness, these have been awesome and I've been running them with my manual drum brakes with no issues. Polishing them is a bit of chore but if this really is a concearn you might want to opt for the chrome model (mine are polished).

The car has never looked better and I get more thumbs up's and questions at the stop light then ever before.

Is it a safe bet that I could achieve the same results on my 64? :Do No:

    Thanks.

Should be exactly the same results since the cars share nearly identicle suspension and body panels.

Thanks for the tip on the powerball, I've been meaning to pick one of these up.
