    Ken,

If you order through Year One, did you get their 10% discount for orders of $500 or more? I wanted to order my 15x7" wheels there but it sounds like it is undertermined when they would get some of those in! They have at least 41 backordered now. I ordered some through Jegs.

    Carl-

I got my discount on a myriad of other items. They specifically said that wheels were discount exempt, so no not on the wheels. In terms of backorder, I can wait as I have time before I need them. However, it looks like the JEGs prices you posted is probably the better deal. Do you know what the JEGs part number is for 15X7 wheels? I went to their site and plugged in "Buick Rallye". I got hits for 14x6 and 15x8 wheels. If the Jegs wheel is correct on that lip for my '71, and the price is better, I'd gladly cancel my Y1 order.

    Thanks!

    Ken,

I don't know what the part # is. I told the guy over the phone that I needed the 15x7 wheel. I am a little concerned on what the lip is going to be. They did not have any in stock so I guess I will be talking with him again to try and find out. I am disappointed about the back spacing being 4 ". The 4 3/8 or 4 1/2 backspacing seems pretty non-existant from the people I called to order from - 4" seems pretty typical on repo wheels for 15x7.

Any one out that got their 15x7 wheels from Jeg's, are you happy with the way they look? How is the chrome and lip look?

I should be able to get some pics for you tonight. Did you ever talk to Specialty Wheel?

    Mark,

Thanks for any pics/help! I have been e-mailing a guy named Howard. He does not seem to know what I am talking about though. When you e-mail Specialty Wheel, a guy from Newstalgia wheels answers... :Do No:

Here is a close-up of a 1971 up wheel. Like I said in an earlier post you need to call Specialty wheel and talk to Tom. I already have mine on order. It may be a little hard to see but the quarter fits totally on the lip of the 70 wheel while it hangs slightly over the edge of the 1971 up wheels.

Thanks Mark! I will call Tom on Monday. You are having him build a set of WG wheels right? Are you putting them on your GSX? I talked with you for a minute at the Nats, and I love your car.

I am buying a set and I am going to keep them back so if I want to go back all stock someday I will have the stuff to do it. I think chroming is only going to get harder and harder to do in the states with all the EPA regulations.

    redo original??

Has anyone ever had thier original WG rims restored and rechromed by one of these wheel manufactures? I have my factory 1970 WG wheels and they need to be redone.I was wondering what the price would be to redo mine so the codes would still be on the wheel.

    Rusty,

I believe it was Stockton (1-800-395-wheel) that said they can take your originals wheels, cut them apart to rechrome and weld them back together for $190 apiece. I guess they do it that way to get the chrome in the crevice area adequetly.

    Keith,

The 15x7 wheels that you got from Summit, they were the dime sized lip used on the 71's? What was the offset on the wheels? Does it have the raised or flat centers on them?

Heres a pic of the Wheel Vintiques. The lip looks to me like a WG wheel.I compared them to a set of 71-up rims and the lip is definetly diffrent. Mines not going to be a show car, so the lip really doesnt bother me,plus my car is an early 71

hello everyone we just got a set of 14by7 wheels from YR1 and the inner lip is big eniugh for a quarter. Also their supplier is Wheel Vintiques, took us almost 3 months to get them but they are vert nice. We only had one problem which was when we went to balance them with new tires they wobbiled somthing terrible up and down, every one, could it have been the machine?
