  3. The "Group Buy" for the 1967-68 Deluxe Steering wheel recasting is now officially "Open". Now is the time to start sending in the wheels. The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. If you send in more than one wheel, each additional wheel will cost $700. Shipping and insurance to Kochs and return shipping will be extra. New to Buick from Wisco

    Wisconsin 70 Skylark custom convertible owner. This is my first Buick that I've owned. Needless to say finding parts has been difficult. We have a 350 2bbl with TH350 trans and are wanting to add a 4bbl intake, carb and headers. I also am looking for suggestions on the rear end. Compatible for the 8.2 or less expensive options changing the whole setup out. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Yes, I currently do not have posi traction and i believe a upper 2's gear ratio. I would like to have the ability too play around with tire melting and great sound. This is more of a cruiser for my wife and I to both enjoy. Oh, our 2 airedale terriers too. We had a accident last year on our Harley and decided to switch back to 4 wheels. I've had a few Mustangs and a 72 Nova over the years. I just had coil overs and tubular control arms installed along with Wilwood 2 piston disc brakes in front. Thanks

    Gears and posi for the buick 8.2 are limited and can get pricey new. Stuff for the chevy 8.2 is different and less expensive. 8.5 stuff if cheaper and more interchange. BOP axles use bolt in axles, others use clips. But a complete rear from any Abody from 68-72 are direct interchange, so chevelle, got, cutlass, el co, and others will bolt straight in

    Wrong 8.2. You need a 68-70 Buick only 8.2. The one you posted is a BOP 8.2 which is incorrect for 68 -70 Buicks.

    Fabcraft made
    a run of the correct 3.42 and 3.64 gear sets. Last time I checked, they were all sold and they had not started another run.

    Hello, I am just south of the border in IL. Where exactly are you located?

    “Buick Bob” in Waterford WI may be of help to you. I’d suggest you find a legit 8.5” ten bolt. And think your gear choice through. In town driving and beating on it - 3.42 ish maybe 3.73. Highway cruising? 3.08 or go to an OD trans and deeper gears

    The bop rear axle in the 8.2 used a carrier with same size carrier bearing......the buick only axle used a larger bearing on 1 side than the other


    Ar the price to do the b axle you could buy a 8.5 and be ahead

    I am 2 hours straight north of Madison in Wausau. Does Buick bob have a shop or is he on here to contact? I appreciate the tips on gearing too. I will probably lean towards 3.42 and maybe a 4 speed down the road. So the 8.5 10 bolt pretty common? Bolt right in too? Sorry about the greenhorn questions. Lol

    The 8.5 with bolt in axles came 71/72 in buicks and I think pontiacs, and some olds. Some olds having the O axles have a 12 bolt cover with a 10 bolt carrier, stay away from it parts hard to come by.

    The chevy 8.5 uses c clips
    But all A body's 68-72 are direct bolt in

    We were in Westin, WI for a wedding over Labor Day weekend!

    Buick Bob has a shop space full of stored parts in Burlington, WI. He brings in cars and parts stuff out at home in Waterford, WI. I will PM a phone number.
