Maybe Buicks just aren't that popular in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada. I lived in Fargo ND for 30+ years and Buicks are everywhere, very popular brand, esp the LeSabre and PA, but there are also tons of new models too. I saw last gen Riv's all over Fargo. But here in Phoenex metro, it seems to be all about Hyundai/Lexus/Mercedes/BMW, etc. I've seen a total of ONE last gen Riv here since last June.
My3Buicks; We will just blindly pretend this below does not exist and continue to downplay Buick's reliability. That was a swell cut and paste about Buicks predicted reliability. One of my sons bought a used Toyota too so I know what you're going through. I am getting through it though, thanks to help and support from my friends. I wish your son success in the future.

Buick didn't have a vehicle in the size SUV I drive, I love the Enclave (I even rented one for 2 weeks to see if I could live with the size) but it is way to large for my needs (one of me) and I love the Encore but it is to small, If I didn't have a large dog that I haul in the back I probably would have given one a shot as I have driven several and the sister Traxx and really enjoy them. I also trailer some and the Encore would be under my needed hauling capacity especially if I had my Kayak & Bike on top. Now that the Envision hit the market it will be perfect and will be my next Buick. I also find the new Regal wagon of great interest, but being that the Envision is out and the Regal is not the Envision will fit the bill. I have my parents and my sister'a family in Enclave's, with no trouble with either and they love them. I had 2 loaded Buick Rendezvous, I got rid of my first one and went into the 2nd one both had over 100K when they left my ownership. When the Renezvous was discontinued that left a huge hole int he lineup for me. I always drive a midsize SUV/Crossover. I have already driven 3 Envisions and they are quite pleasing. It is certainly not because I don't want to drive a Buick.

This thread actually went awry at post 54. You went to a Reds game? Who does that any more? They were so 2010-2014. FWIW, I was a Reds season ticket holder until moving away from the 'nati. I still miss going to the games. My daily driver was built by the good folks in Marysville, OH.
Hi Brian. The Odyessy had to be reloaded in the 7th. One person in our party was ejected for an alcohol related infringement. They took his stub, which because of the number of strike outs was worth a free Larosas pizza. Security said "no pizza for you". We still laugh about that. Reds were losing badly in the 7th anyway LOL. Since they've been labeled as good folks, I am going to assume your Honda has been good to you.
my brother in law was on the reds during that time frame. he got called up for a few months and then was traded to the Cubs as part of a multi-player deal. Dave Sappelt is his name. do you remember him?
Yes, I do. He was a late season call up after being their best minor league hitter for a couple years. Spot starter and backup in the outfield, mostly left I think. I saw him fairly close up as my seats were on the 3B line.

We had been looking to replace our 03 Regal that we purchased new and were/are very pleased with. The wife liked the new regal, so we shopped a few used ones and ended up with new 16 Regal T. The car is way different(better) in all aspects of driving and we are planning on keeping it for about 10-15 years. So far not 1 complaint from my wife, she averages about 7k a year on her car and performance/economy is really good so far. We've owned it since September I would recommend Not sure if this is the feedback you were looking for or if your even following the thread anymore.
I will say being in the auto business for full time now over 6 years and family owning a Pontiac dealership in Cleveland Ohio for many years and my stepfather owning 2 pre owned dealership for over 30 years ( he is 53 and been selling since age 16) i have gotten to drive and own and see quite a few vehicles. His price point for his 2 shops are $10k and under cars. He buys all down south because being in Cleveland Ohio everything rusts out. Even seeing a few year old Hyundais and Kias bubbling paint at bottom of doors and body panels. One thing is, the minivan market is dominated by imports. Siennas and Odysseys. I see them come in with 200-300k like nothing. Now they are not perfect as they are both known for electric door issues and transmission issues. I do never see Chryslers with that high of mileage. Good friend works for himself now was a Chrysler master tech. The old body style Caravans from 1990s and 2000s has drives all over with 300k. Newer style with new motor has issues. I think the vehicles today are too reliant on electronic everything. I see it with my master technicians. Many of them have been wrenching on GM vehicles, 4 of them since late 1960s. They all drive 3.8 powered Buicks. I think the torque off the line and power is still way better with a 3.8 then the new 3.6s. I miss my 2000 Regal GS i put over 250k on it and sold it a friend who is one of the best Turbo Regal builders in the nation. Car still around, sure the digital dash went, but over 300k with original motor and trans. Those 3.8s whether in Turbo Regals or a 4 door sedan they just pull so well off the line. And great highway cruisers. Set the cruise at 80 still get 30 plus mpg. I will say this as much as i am pro GM like Brian i can understand why he has gone to Toyota. My allegiance to GM of today is definitely not as strong as what I collect and what my stepfather collects, which is primarily BOP from the 1960s to 1980s. The cars he buys to sell range in mileage but quite a few over 100k. The amount of tire pressure sensors and airbag lights and window motor regulators and climate control switches and silly little items that break on GM vehicles are to him very aggravating. He has switched his buying to going after early to mid year 2000s imports. We stay away from high end Audis and Benz because at 100k its like a Christmas tree lighting up with issues. Same for VWs, to work on basic VWs, its like you might as well remove the front clip of the car. Lots of issues and the brand loses money in the US every year. They dont care because they kill the bear in Mexico and Central/South America . He is buying a lot more Hyundais and Kias because they are holding a good value and their quality has gone way up since they were built. He still buys the late 80s and 90s 3.8 powered anything but those cars are few and far between anymore because they have been crushed or run into the ground! Interesting point in talking to my stepfather was the fact at auctions he is seeing more 500-600k mile cars then ever before. A lot of sales reps for medical supplies to everything are covering more states than ever before. And therefore these cars are racking up mileage. I am seeing more customers driving 25-30k miles per year come in buy vehicles or lease them and buy the lease out and run them into the ground. I think the cars are lasting better. I was talking with my shop foreman who laughed and said when someone in the late 1970s at a Buick dealer he worked at from 1968 to a few years ago before coming to mine, he said people saw an old Electra with a 455 get over 100k miles and people were taking pictures of it. Cars it seemed like last 5 or 6 years and just rusted to the ground. But back then you could buy a new car every year . Nowadays the big push is leasing. We have a penetration rate of 93 percent of customers who come in for a new vehicle lease the vehicle. Truly a wiser investment if you can do it and dont drive a lot of miles . The vehicle is under warranty, maintenance too. To finance something new, just not worth it overall. Depreciation hit plus the cost after warranty and service work too it is not easy. Someone said about the new vehicles being appliances and that is 100 percent true. My grandmother is 89 still has a GE freezer built in 1969. Still ice cold. Sure not energy efficient but you cant kill that thing. Nowadays new appliances and cars just are built for short shelf life. Grandmother had a Sears washer and dryer from early 1960s. She had it for years then gave to stepfather for his one dealership and that thing lasted deep into the 2000s. Even parents have an old washer and dryer they just had repaired and the guy said keep it they dont make them like they used to. Its really aggravating to be honest the quality in everything just is made to break almost. I just had a fellow V8 Buick member i had to assist him for his Buick getting repaired. Today its just a war between customer and manufacturer and nobody wants to be accountable or pay or assist. I think sooner than later as I have read, manufacturers now realize they will cut back production in 1st quarter of 2017. Leases are just so cheap but problem is the fact when we take these cars back in on trade the bank takes them and auctions them. I think we will soon have a surplus of couple year old vehicles from leases that just arent holding values. Therefore used sales will go down and cause issues. Market was super strong in 2016 as we sold over 150 cars in December. Be interesting to see what the future holds... Cadillac dealers are going to be faced, low performing ones, because they have such a large amount of new inventory not selling, to go to kiosks and take buyouts from GM and franchises will close. Watch for this very soon...
