Hi all - The wife said it has to go: 1984 Suburban 4X4. 1500 Silverado. Runs well - You could drive it home. Engine & drive train good, interior good, Some new parts. 350/auto/PS/PB AC. Blue/Blue vinyl interior. Good 6 lug tires and wheels. It has the usual rust issues for this vintage. The worse is the frame in the rear. The tailgate hinge area is "gone". So its a parts car or restoration canidate. It might make a good "FARM USE" vehicle. Give me $100 and its yours!

I have it advertised locally for $875 obo.

Bill - My brother (in Reston) will be moving back to NY later this month to take the NYS bar exam. He'll be needing more space than his Grand Am has.....do you think there would be any trouble making the 5-6 hr. trip up here?

If so, you have a taker.

    Thanks :TU:

It needs work to pass inspection in Va. Muffler for sure, maybe other items as well, depends on the inspector. Once it passes inspection it should make it. Drivetrain, brakes and suspension are OK.

Truck is still here - got lots of calls but no lookers. I hate it when people say they will be "right over" and never show or call. Funny how when I say its being sold as a parts car people ask me if its inspected, driven daily, rust free, etc! They all want a $5000 car for $500! Sorry, just ranting! Its going to charity soon, at least I'll get a tax write off.
GSXMEN is 1st, jimmy is 2nd, and 69cloner is 3rd. Let me know one way or the other.

My Dad was Engineer, XO and CO. Unusual for one guy to have all three jobs on the same boat!

The hitch and frame appear to be in OK shape. I used it to tow cars on trailers, it ran well for a 350!

Sorry for the miscommunication this weekend!! :Dou:

Last I left things with my brother on the phone, I thought he was going to call you if his ride wasn't available. Apparently that didn't happen.

If I can get your address, he'll bring over payment in the next 2 days.

As soon as he mails up the title, I can transfer my car onto that one and send the tags right back down. Then he can get it out of your way.

    Again.....sorry for all confusion.

    Thanks

    New Home!

Here is my diesel 3/4 ton 84 Suburban pulling the "new" 84 4X4 Suburban. I made it back with no problems. Unloaded it off the trailer and promptly took the boys out into the grown up field in the back yard to check out the four wheel drive which still works fine.

Bill also gave me an awsome deal on some Goodyear Wrangler M/T tires already mounted on 15X8 factory wheels. These will work out perfect for those old farm paths.

I even drove it to work today with the use of the license tags off my suburban. With borrowed NC tags and an expired VA state inspection I was asking for it. I figured with my luck just getting this deal that it would hold out for me to drive it some without getting caught. It now resides in the shop for a check over and my insurance to be added.

Thanks a whole bunch Bill! This is exactly what me and the boys wanted to go hunting on.

Maybe when Bill decides to sell one of his Buicks I can get this same kind of deal!?!?!?

    Mud

Me and the boys went trail riding and saw one doe and one 8 pointer. Then we decided to take a little risk with the goodyear tires on and the 4WD locked it and made it through some mud with one hole being deep and full of water. I promptly knocked the driving lights out of wack, felt a thud when the trailer hitch hit and had a wave of muddy water come up on the hood! I really didn't think it was that deep but the boys loved it. This Suburban is working out just great. Thanks again Bill.
