The circle jerks have been using Nitrogen for years, tire pres just doesnt change. The tires will stay "cooler" on normal driving, we compared. dont run Nitro on your street bike rubber as the compound needs the heat.

Aside from the possible improvements in ride quality that nitrogen may provide to car tires, it is also true that not just F-4's use it in their tires. All tires used on commercial airplanes are filled with nitrogen for a number of reasons. Besides the ability to maintain a more constant pressure, nitrogen-filled tires heat slower than regular air-filled tires, delaying or preventing tire failure/blowouts (or blow-ups, if you've ever heard one go) in the event of overheating the brakes, for example. It also reduces or eliminates the damaging effects of oxygen on the inside of the tires and extends tire life. While some dressings like Armorall can reduce or prevent the cracking on tires as they age, this is only the case on the outside of the tire, not the inside. A tire treated with Armorall externally but filled with regular air will crack (or dry rot) on the inside. Nitrogen filled tires do not. This is not a consideration for cars that are driven regularly and have normal tire replacement, but for cars that are driven much less frequently (like most of our '60's and '70's Buicks, for example) this can be an advantage. Tires on these cars are not replaced as often and can deteriorate from the inside out. Nitrogen can extend the life of these tires and, for $20, that's a bargain.
