Is there rust in the lifter holes or bores? Maybe I am seeing the cosomoline. What would shipping cost to a Depot in St Louis

Also to Anaheim, CA, 92801 (Shipping, that is).

I'll bounce the cost of shipping off the cost of making the long trek up to your location. You do have an engine hoist, don't you?

Cosmoline. Any superficial surface rust on it, if any, is gone just when the cosmoline is cleaned off. This thing will clean up like a new born baby. I wouldnt sell it if it weren't for the other projects in the garage.

Ill get a couple quotes on trucking for you fellows.

    Cheers!

This may be a dumb question but what are the specs on this motor(comp ratio, cam, etc)?

Not sure th specs; factory replacment engine likely lower compression. I'll ask Jim Wiese if he knows.

Trucking to Downtown ST Louis business is ~$450.00 estimate which should be close one way or another.

Well, heck.... My efforts to organize a "vacation" road trip for pick-up, or make the reasonable shipping arrangements aren't working out very well. Therefore, I'm dropping out of line for this block in favor of anyone else who may show interest in it.

I haven't completely given up hope, though. If I can set something up, I'll contact you and, if it's still available, close the deal.

Thanks for working with me, though.

I looked at this block and it's exactly like Mark is claiming. It is in excellent condition. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

    Opa Torque/a 8 piston figure

We put such a engine in a 72 boattail, we did swap out the camshaft for a little more power. Put on some Stage 1 heads, and a S-divider intake that the owner had from his old engine. And it runs like a champ, pulls hard, lots of torque in these "stock" engines.

It cleaned up nice when we disassembled it and put the engine in a engine washer to clean it all up.
The engine was "frozen" due to the dryed up cosmoline.
But no rust to be found anywere.

1000 dollars sounds like a good deal!

I hate to have to dump it but too many projects and need funds for those. I have heard several stories just like yours.
