  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration. This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things.   3. The "Group Buy" for the 1967-68 Deluxe Steering wheel recasting is now officially "Open". Now is the time to start sending in the wheels. The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. If you send in more than one wheel, each additional wheel will cost $700. Shipping and insurance to Kochs and return shipping will be extra. You will be contacted by Teresa to make payment for the wheel(s) and return shipping and insurance when your wheel(s) is complete.     Date code 0374 should make this a factory replacement carb built in February of 1974....Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    Everything moves nice. Finishes look excellent.

    Looks like a Carter rebuild...doesn't have the circular ID tag. It also has the modern throttle shafts with the teflon coating, and the modern pump linkage and fast-idle cam. Nice looking. Does it have the bushings for the throttle shafts? They may not have been installing them in 74.

    I'd hit it if I didn't already have three 248's to my name: 2 on the bench and one on the engine. :Brow:

    So you're thinking it's a rebuild of a service replacement carb? I don't see any throttle shaft bushings....

    It looks like an authentic replacement, your description of it seems accurate to me. Was there any packaging with it showing what company did the actual rebuild?

    No packaging aside from the black plastic tray and plastic wrapping shown in the pictures. I know I've seen a lot on here that the original finish on most of the parts is completely removed when the carb is rebuilt by most rebuilders. The finishes all look pretty true to me, but that doesn't count for much. :laugh:
