Not a Buick....But it is .....1989 Turbo Trans Am

Picked up last year, just sits and collects dust next to my restoration project Car..I need the room... runs brand new ,Heck it is brand new only 1,200 miles ..not one ding ..mint all the way through..everything works 100%...just a small crack in the rear spoiler...they all do that ,easy fix..No modifications whatsover.....I should of brought one with higher mileage so I can drive it....very fun car...boost is zoom zoom with the turbo v6 ..same as GN ...believe the car would be/is great investment grade...once it hits 20 years old in this condition and mileage(2009) maybe over $35k easy and maybe more..

    $27,500 firm
    located in Chicago
    NO test pilots please

this is a pic from where I bought from..same thing now..

You really know how to hurt a guy! Just what I need another car that I won't drive . I too think this will be the Stage 1 of the future but better . The fact that this car is the only car to pace the Indy 500 without modifications IMHO makes this a very collectable car and I for one would love to close it up in my garage . In case someone thinks the spoiler crack is suspicious , I know of 2 other very low mile TTA that have the same affliction . Now if I could just make the wife understand that we need this car .

Looks like T Tops. Leather or cloth interior? All the options, or anything unusual about the configuration?

Mike....leather and perfect...they are all optioned the same I believe...just the leather/cloth ...and supposedley a few with no t-tops ive heard....I dont even have the decals on it..still in the owners kit...looks boss with decals on.....I dont even think the car has had a tune up...just a few oil changes and a flat tire fixed...and something about fuel pump a few months after it was sold brand new from Virginia dealer in 1989...original owner some FBI guy...this car is brand new ...wish i had some pics of underneath car...all stickers underneath still intact and clear...not even road dirt/grime ...and most important NO LEAKS!

I should of picked one up with high mileage....and way less the price....so i can drive it everyday ..these are FUN to drive....its a head turner of a car...just as much as my free spirit was...(i miss her :( )

I've had one of these for about 10 years-quite the mochine, and true enough on the spoilers cracking at the mount locations-they all do it eventually. There have been lighter aftermarket replacements available-good luck

SWEEEEEEET Car Rex - Good Luck with the sale ... Its worth EVERY PENNY !!

My nexr door neighbor had one with 5K on it - for the four years he lived next to me I saw it out of the garage 3 times. First time, I told him if he ever wants to sell it, Im FIRST !!

He came to me this past november and said "Im moving to Fla - its yours for 25K" ... as much as I wanted it (More so after i drove it :eek2: ) I finally said the same as you above. You're price is very fair ....these cars are really starting to move up the scale now

That doesn't mean there's not ALOT of garages out there waiting and willing to swallow this CREAMPUFF up ... just takes a different kinda person.

Hey Frank take a partial trade for a nice sportwagon? I would trade you my 70 convert, but you would owe cash on that one. Yours is a beautiful car. Think all the money we could save on shipping. Tony

I do know of a stage 1 qq GSX for sale. The most heavily optioned X that I have seen, but you already have a project going. :Brow: Besides, I don't know if I can juggle that well. If you can get me some pics of the 79 TA, I have a guy at work looking for one. Tonychristie@msn.com. Thanks Tony

I'll tell you what, the performance of these T cars is awesome. My GN has 8K worth of mods, but even stock they are crazy fast...

If I could afford it, I'd pay Rex some money and tell him to KEEP the car... Someone else is bound to put miles on it, and you don't want that! :Dou:

....thats why I didn't buy my neighbors 5,200 mile '89 tta last fall for 22K.

I couldn't see buying a car I cant drive - I understand it and its FINE for someone else - just not who I am
