Ok pop quiz hot shot. I am putting a new oil pan gasket on a 71 350 and removing what's left of the original gasket. I removed all the bolts and put them in a bucket with grease cleaner to sit. Well I go back and start to wipe them off. There are three of them that are solid as in the washer is part of the bolt. The rest have a loose washer. So where do the solid bolts go?

They should all be sems type bolts with the loose washer attached to the bolt

Correct answer hot shots. Lol. Went back out this morning and used pliers to squeeze washer sway from bolt head. That's what 51 years of life under a car gets ya.

Follow up question. Replacing oil pan gasket. Read manual about raising engine but fuzzy on how to support engine so it doesn't roll to the ac side.

Just make sure that the trans mount isn't broken before you start. Believe me, the engine can roll if it's broken.
