Guys, I thought I'd pulled together all the parts needed for a fresh 455 build...turns out I forgot about an oil slinger (didn't have a core to work from, and this is my first Buick engine). I realized my oversight when I started my "final" assembly on Sunday, and found a reference to installing the oil slinger in the service manual which just arrived from TA. ou: Does anybody have an Oil Slinger you'd be willing to sell me--or can you recommend any source for one? Nothing at NAPA, no longer available from GM... Thanks!
Hi Joe...I'm not sure if we're talking about the same part or not; the oil slinger slips over the end of the crank behind the timing cover, between the timing chain & the harmonic balancer. It looks like it's stamped steel, convex, maybe 1/16" thick. Thanks, Jay
Thanks for making my day! I'll send you a PM with address, etc. I would appreciate the priority mail option....I want to do the assembly this weekend. Jay :TU:
