Dave,Bob Notice the green Ford is in FRONT of the 88!! Re; wood, my wife can only wish and dream!!! Yes I meant a 300C. Actually it was a copper colored convert with a white top. When that 392 (TWO WCFB's) picked off second at 5500 or so and the car went sideways I was totally ruined for life. I giggled at flatheads and Small block chevies for years after that. The kids in High school talked about 270 this and "Fuelie" that or 265/283/301's and I thought HEMI!! Then to really confuse the issue, a physician buddy of my Dad's bought a Little copper colored Plymouth that went like the Hammers of Hell, that was a long ram 361 (?). Almost turned me into a Mopar Freak. Car would blow the factory exhaust system off the car! Literally!! As far as the Y Block goes, Dave, ask Palma about John's "Hoosier Hurricane" it's not a pure Stocker, but is a legit Super Stock car, built some 30 years ago. Best of 11.41 @119 mph. Looks like the USS Enterprise from Star Trek going thru the lights, sounds like the beaches at Normandy in June 1945. That's what rekindled the Y Block thing, saw one in a showroom once. Re pics, wish I had some, didn't have the foresight to shoot pics. Boy, were you skinny!
and another from the same website...... Easy to find with Google. I worked as an internet researcher until I got fired from that early this year. Pretty bad when you work for a family member and still get fired. I'm building quite a 57 Ford collection, here Frank. Fun. :bglasses:
True - there was a guy here in the Flint area (Brad Burton was his name) that had TWO Paxtons on his: one on each side!
m 38, Is that Rosies Dad? Dave had a car show in Elkhart, the day after Martin, Had a guy show up with a J-2, 88, with 46,000 original miles on it. Black on Black (and white)
That is exactly the same color combo as my 56 Mainliner that was a Ky State Police Pursuit car. Hmmmmmm..............
I can see that bad boy with about 6" whacked out of the top, radiused wheel wells, 12" tires no front chrome, nose in the air and an injected big inch Y Block. WHAP, WHAP.:Brow:
OK, Pegleg and all Y-blockers: Here's a last-year SUNLINER (note script on rear fenders) and a straight-drive Y-block to boot! Who says you can't have it all? :TU: BP http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/62-g...132193686QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item320132193686
Here's your everyday ordinary Y-block, naturally asperated, single 4 barrel 57 Ford. Not even ordinary!! Saw it run this May, down in Georgia. Runs like a FE motored car.....
22 hours to go, reserve is met at $9k? That looks like a steal, Bob. I doubt it'd fit in most garages with that Continental kit, but it sure is pretty. Stick shift, too. How about this one? Looks like a good commuter car if you work in downtown Detroit, or Iraq. Same difference.
The double-stack grille and headlights look like the light green 1979 Ford Country Squire they built up as The Family Truckster for the original Family Vacation movie, no? I actually saw that very car (The Family Truckster) here in the Indianapolis area, for sale about 8 years ago. Notable was the fuel filler pipe and cap having been moved to inside the left rear of the wagon. That allowed them to remove the standard fuel filler door on the LR quarter panel and make that fake fuel filler door for the movie, the filler location at the right rear of the car's hood! To put gas in the car as modified, you actually had to open the tailgate and pull the fuel hose inside the wagon's rear compartment. I don't think that would pass current Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards! <G> What a hoot. BP
Dave Fuzner's '57 may leak fluids, but the spots are so far apart you won't notice!, Car runs very low 12's with a single 4bbl 312 (+/-) Y block. He pulled a 460 out of it, straightened everything up, and proceeded to to go quicker with a Y Block than it went with the Big block.ou: :TU: Nice man, very quiet, and dignified unlike the rest of us, except Ted. Owns a construction Co in Missouri. I've seen the car run down some blown Y's at Columbus.:eek2: The Sedan Delivery belongs to Peter Leddy, originally from "Down Under" now lives in Texas. I cannot explain the Wagon or whatever that is. I mean.....Why?
