When I first read this I thought it swallowed the nut holding the air cleaner stud. But upon further reading....... ouch! Check all those bolts boys and girls-especially those of us doing constant jet changes!! http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=7800909&an=0&page=0#Post7800909 have to scroll down a bit to see wha' happen!
Sure left pretty hammer marks on the head. But that block ain't never gonna be the same...and I bet at least the rod is bent, if not the crank.
Friend of mine had the very same thing happen to him with his Off road truck. He dumped about $5k into a 460ci i had sold him out of an ambulance. This was the 1st time he ever spent this much money on an engine but he wanted a stout motor to turn the 44's he is running. He stuffed the engine in it, drove it about 200 miles and the very same thing happened. Wrecked the head on one side, trashed the piston, bent the rod, trashed the cylinder wall, and ruined the crank. He had the cylinder sleeved, new pistons, new rods, new crank, bought another set of heads and had them worked. A mutual friend helped him put it back together and the rest of us helped him put it back in the truck. The guy is normally hot headed, better than everyone else type of fella but this really knocked him in his place. No one needs crap luck like that. He is now very anal about double checking everything to be tight and the stud in the carb was lock tighted in.
