Dropped my fuel tank out of my 69 GS and found the build sheet on top of the fuel tank under that black insulation. Haven't looked at it too much yet but is this a common place for these to be?

  2. I hear it is a very common place to find them. Along with stuffed into the rear seat too, maybe inside the door, behind kick panels.... just about anywhere! I'm tempted to drop the tank on my 68 and see if there's one there. It was restored mid-90's, but I doubt the tank was removed. Seats were recovered, so I doubt I would find it in the rear seat.

    Thanks Marco!

What is the Body Order Production Final sheet? I didn't have a chance to really look at it but it did look like it had a minimum of info on it.

    Oh,

Where is the main build sheet usually placed...under the front or rear seats? Since my uphostery looks original maybe I will find that one too.

    Dan,
If your 69 was built in Flint then the buildsheet you found on top of the gas tank is either a Production Order Body Final or a Production Order Chassis Paint sheet. They are labeled at the top.

If your car was built at another plant you would have one of the large buildsheets. These are usually found under the rear seats, and sometimes on top of the gastank.
    Hope this helps.

    Duane,

This sheet was taped to the tank and covers up the top of the sheet so I can't tell what it is. It is approx. 8x9" and has 4 rows of codes that include:

First row: line number, series, body style, instrument panel info
Second row: Brake pedal, electrical options, Lamps, Fan
Third row: Switches, Options, Radio, Console
Fourth row: Tires, Vehical ID, Key numbers

    Dan,
That's a Production Order Body Final buildsheet. Looks like your car was built in Flint.
