This weekend I was replacing points in a low mileage 72 Centurion. The points still had a two piece metal shield over them, which I've never seen before. Does it do much good? Should I leave it off or put it back on?
I believe that's there for additional rf shielding, to help keep radio buzz down. I left mine off (back when I had points), and couldn't tell a bit of difference. Left it off for the next ten years, until I went HEI. James
