Attached are some pics of our 71 Stage One we are offering to sell. It is a less than 45K mile car that was last licensed and inspected for the 76-77 year. After that is was painted a 70s custom Sungleam Blue and stored on jack stands in climate control until I took it home in Novenmber 2006. It has the stage one ...242 carb, the stage one... 2016 distrib and the corrected 71 stage one OW trans. Apparently the original block was hurt and some of the original 71 engine parts were transferred to a 70 block betweeen 1971 and 76-77. Back in the 70s the owner added subtle ghost flames to the nacelles and an extra 455 emblem. The paint is so nice I hate to change it. That will be up to the next guy. I am finishing a few details to the ram air cleaner, carb. new trans lines etc but I am close to the end for me. It is not a concours resto but it is a lovely car. Just to give you and example, I removed the gas tank thinking after being stored for 30 years it would be full of crud. It was so nice I wish I had not bought the new one. The bottom of the trunk floor against the tank was still like new.l Location = Needmore, NC Price = 300 Franklin brothers
any chance it's Franklin's picture on a 10 dollar bill? Nice car Jim you should have no trouble selling it. Bob
I saw the car yesterday and it is one that should be preserved. Very clean interior and underside. Step up to the plate.
I would step up but I don't have a bat . very nice car Jim . As usual I am wishing to hit that lottery again . Once again I want to thank you for bringing your fine cars to BG this year . I know it is a financial burden to do so . I hope we can discuss the possibility of a cash payout to Concours winners at future NATS to keep these kind of cars coming . Sorry for the abuse of the thread . John
John I was really glad to see you and the other V8 Board members that came by our tent. Sharing these cars with others is the main thing for me. I prefer the driver cars myself but there needs to be a few restored and preserved to kinda how they appeared new. Otherwise you have no baseline for all the other GS cars. As for this 71 stage one car you can buy it a lot cheaper than you can pay someone to semi restore one.
Take a trade in on my 72 Stage 1 Suncoupe ? I bet Jim W is lonely without you and that car would keep him busy !
Ive seen very detailed pics of this car and it is a very nice example of a stage 1. Its worth the money.
:eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: No way.... I can't believe I read that....looked at it again.......wow, he really wrote that......sheesh......someone call 911.....Jim Lore is seriously ill.....this could be fatal........:Brow: :Brow: :Brow:
Today I took a very long look at this car and to say it is solid is just simply a understatement !!! the bolts under the car look great, no rust. the car cranks and runs like a dream. Super nice original black int. car has gauges, in dash tach, posi rear end, Disc brakes, and NO RUST...headlight bezals look good (not pitted up) hoodbar was very nice (near NOS) front and rear bumper are solid and shine..Tires are new with nice looking 15" wheel. If this was a 1970 it would be in my driveway but of corse if it was a 70 the price would be higher. If someone here is looking for a really nice car to enjoy this car would be fantastic. You cant find them in this condition very often.
Re: Our Blue 71 Stage One TTT Soon to go to Ebay if there is no interest here. __________________ Jim Lore BPG 1037 ****************************************************** Jim, I think there is a ton of interest in the car... We just all seem to have run just a tad short on Franklins... Wish I had some more! Nice Car!!! :TU: Gil
