So what's the feeling on painting the car, bolt all of the parts back together and then paint it? Or paint the parts separtely and then carefully reassemble it? It will be a straight medium red color.

If you are going with a solid color I would paint it apart.Make sure you test fit all the sheetmetal first so you no what shims need to go where before painting.

Thanks guys, that was kind of my line of thought. Since there's no metallic, having it apart should be the best for a nice job. Just some caution putting itback together

Cool, I'm going to pick up some paint for mine today, just do some touch up and trim stuff. AZ needs another Red Buick prowling the streets!!

Ha, I thought I was the only one to ever see that movie, one of my all time favs!

You ought to read Bruce Cambells first book "If Chins Could Kill, Confessions of a B Movie Actor" Funny as heck and a lot of insight into making the Evil Dead / AOD movies.

Yeah, once this last project is out of the way, it's MY time! Here's the rough finished outer skin of the tailgate. I did the inner piece this weekend and will prep and trim the two pieces and finally bond them together.

That's cool, is that going on the wagon? I was up at TA today getting some gaskets. Great folks up there.

Actually I used Mike's mold, the one they used to make the tailgate for his wagon. This tailgate is going on a wagon back east that Mike knows, 10 second ride I think. When I get done everything I was going to post a step by step page on my site, to show the steps.

Yeah, I can't wait to hang out over at TA a little more and give them some of my money :pp
