Painting with Metal Flake (non-Buick car)

I am going to paint the top of my brothers Hearse, and I have questions before I get into it.

Can I spray metal flake with .15 and .25 size flake at the same time (so long as the tip will spray the larger flake)?

Will spraying .15 size flakes with the tip for the .25 size do damage to the gun or the paint job?

Can I still clear coat between layers to add depth?

The flake is being bought from: http://www.rothmetalflake.com/brite.html & http://www.rothmetalflake.com/monster.html (he's going with a blue but I'm unsure which blue).

The effect that I am going for is depth; I want the flakes to look as though they are floating above each other.

So to add depth; should I paint with only large flake for the bottom layers followed by clear coat, followed by smaller flake layers? I've only ever seen paint jobs where one size flake was used, never mixed or layered by size.

This is going to be the first time that I will paint with flake.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated! :TU:
