Any input on this? I’m looking for a cover to use for a 70 455 in a 69 GS using a TA 2040D Fan Shroud. I spoke with TA and their consensus was I should use a 70 style cover with their shroud and a 70 455.

No first hand experience but 1969 is very different. I'd look for a 69 one

With the shroud and motor I have I don’t see how a 69 would ever work.

Car and water pump determine what you need. Iirc

The top plate goes with the core support I think. For a 69 you will need a big block shroud and a 68-9 big block top plate to mount up correctly. Not saying you can't make stuff work but the big block 69 piece is a different size/design than the 70 I think.

Water pump is an aftermarket short pump size flow cooler. The pump that was on the motor was the original short pump but I switched it for the flow cooler.

I have bought two of the covers.

They are too shiney as made, but can be used as is. I am going to scuff mine and shoot them in chassis black to more replicate the factory look.

Also, you will need to get the correct captured nuts to install in these for the fan shroud bolts.

    Otherwise, quality is good.

I was actually wondering how to get it back to the day one look. Scotch pad for scuffing?

Also, same thing with the shroud? Which brand paint?

I like Krylon Flat Black myself.

Scotch pad will work. I used like 2000 grit paper I believe.

Then I give it a good wash with Westleys bleach white and let it dry.

I like to paint mine in the Sun so the cover/shroud is warm to the touch.

    I did this one today.
