Needed some Pearl white touch up paint for my 70 GS. I searched this board- and will post links to those threads later- for Pearl white vinyl dye.
James Weinman had stated to use SEM Super White and get Pearl top coat from Ames Performance in New Hampshire…it was listed under the 1968 GTO interior section…
I did my armrest bases today… adhesion promoter, followed by one light coat of SEM, 1 medium coat, 1 light coat… let dry… then 2 coats of Pearl top coat…

I bought 4 cans of Super White from National Tool for a total of $68 shipped- and it came in 1 day later, 3 cans of pearl white for $68 from Ames- came in 1 day later. I did "over do it"... But would rather have the supply on hand for when I needed it.

This thread is NOT to show the progress on the car... More for an educational reference for those that needed a pearl white dye option..

Thanks Fred! Yes, the paint supplies all came in yesterday. I washed the bases, dried them in the sun, wiped them down with lacquer thinner, hit them with a few light coats of adhesion promoter, then dyed them. I polished the stainless inserts and screwed the pads on... I'll post some pics when they are mounted..

Here’s the completed project..there were a few small water stains on the door panels. Misted those areas….
