:af: I was just trying to mind my own business tonight driving home from work. A loud azz 96ish Mustang pulls out in front of me, revs his engine up next to me. Off road exhaust piercing my soul as he slows down and gets behind me! He then rides my butt, down shifts into what sounds like first gear , and then flys around me. My stock 350 2 couldn't take him...yet ( I didn't even try). Next summer shes gonna stomp the crap out of these idiots. BTW, I owned a 93 5.0 Notchback, it was quick, but I would only strike when threatened! I can't stand guys like this!!!:af: :af:
I remember a similar story, but it was with a Brand New Cobra ( I called it a worm just to get him mad). I was in my Buick 350 Monza at the time. Light turned green, and he took me off the line, and as I passed him, I waved. I slowed down to say "nice run" or soemthing cool, and he flipped me off. At the next light I asked him how much he paid for that thing, and he spouted some rediculous amount, and then I told him I bought miine for $300 out of a junk yard, and then said.. Ooops. Yeah, its a sport, and not a reason to get mad, but I guess when you drop 30k on a car and you loose to an 80s car with a luggage rack, it gets under their skin. Oh, the funniest thing was the whole time I sat at the light I kept thinking to myself "Man this guy looks just like Grimmas (McDonalds purple guy). -Jon
I cant wait untill I drop a bigger engine into my electra 84. So when these ricers/punks come up to me, I will just smoke them. They think they are so cool in their mustangs, some are fast off the line but most just suck imho.
It was a 1980 Chevy Monza. The v8 Buick drops right in, little to no mods. They came with v6, and the v8 is the same motor 2 cylinders longer in front, so the rear dimention stays the same. They are very inexpensive, but a BLAST to drive! I really miss it. But my wife REALLY likes her ring. I painted the thing and everything....... <sniffle>
The car is a hybrid. The fastback cars had the cool front end, and the coupes had the single headlight. I just unbolted the two and swapped them to get what I wanted. The coolest MOnza to have is the 77 Monza Mirage. It was the Pace Car, and came factory 350 4 speed with all the body flares and air dam..... factory! Hard to find, but they are out there. -Jon
