WOW there's my 71X I sold to Ben Stockton in AL who wrecked it and sold to a guy in VA. Here is my 81 VA tag. DSCN5069.JPG 71xx.jpg
I believe it was owned by Randy Cofield at that time.

No Dan mine was 455 4sp

Has 72 grille due to accident and fact that 71 grilles were first to be discontinued around 1984.

Our posts crossed:). I saw the VA plate & knew the one I was referring to came out of VA. Forgot about your car & that you used to live in VA

Yours was not only 455 4-sp but IIRC had A/C & manual steering.

Yes....I'm sure only ONE made that way.
It did have power brakes....if it had manual brake imagine the full body workout it would have provided!
As it was the AC was greatly appreciated!
Took it to DC for sightseeing one time and had to park on the street in a tight space was like a wrestling match with those G60-15s.

For sure 1 of 1. Doesn't Mike S. have that car now? Parallel parking is the one place I prefer PS. It's not even as bad on the 350 cars but the added weight of the 455 & then A/C on top of that... I've had 4 factory manual steering GS's over the years (2 ea. 350 & S1) so got pretty used to it.

Thank you for posting those pictures!!
It is funny how times have changed, many would be crying if those cars were out in the rain today.

1984... before my time, I was a Junior in High School.

The thing that struck me the most was Brad's X sitting in the parking lot with everyone else.. obviously being driven back then..

While "perfect" show cars are nice, I often think one that shows nicely like that one did back then, but is not perfect, is better to have.. because you can still drive it.

I am assuming this was before it's frame off resto, I could be wrong I guess.
