It's getting so close to the cruizin' season, I'm thinking about bringing my ride out of storage early. No, too much crud is still on the roads. I'll have to wait...............
That sure is a nice cruiser, Rob. We had lots of rain last weeks that cleaned up the roads; for the last couple of days we had a clear blue sky (temperatures into the 6ties), so I took the Wagon out of the storage today, checked tires/fluids cleaned it inside and out etcetc for tomorrow it will get its first 30mls of this year. Can't wait :3gears:
Was wondering about that also. (couldn't find it in the 2nd photo though) Is it the same as seen on this Riviera, Rob?
Yes, that is an Autronic Eye. It can be adjusted to set the threshold of when the high beams switch to low beams when an oncoming vehicle's headlamps are detected through the "eye". Its a very rare accessory for 70's Buicks.
I thought, so. My familiarity with it is from a seemingly odd source, however. Lincolns used those same GM dimmers in the 1960's.
My 1988 and 1992 Town Cars had automatic headlight dimming. It worked perfectly. My 1995 Town Car didn't have it, and when I tried to buy the parts to install automatic headlight dimming; Ford said that it had been discontinued because customers complained that it didn't work well.
hmmmm...... Dad's 2004 Lincoln has some form of automatic lights. (?) Maybe it's just twilight on and sentinel; and not, auto dimming...........o No: Wonder, if they're still using GM?
