Okay, so I need to get some new wires for my new dave ray distributor, but I'm on a tight budget. I've narrowed it down to, I think, Accel 8mm Spiral SuperStock or Taylor Spiro-Pro wires. Are the Taylow Spiro-Pro the ones that some of you have mentioned using? If so, anyone know if the BBC set will fit? They're $13 cheaper than the universal sets on Summit's site. I know some have used the BBC version of the MSD SuperConductors (too much $$ at this point), but I don't know if that plays over to other wire sets or not.

I just installed a set of the Accel wires on my '70 GS with 455. They came with straight boots into the distributor. I don't know what your clearance is under air cleaner, but I had to order 90* boots and switch them out.

MSD Superconductor 8.5mm from Jegs - Spiral core design $70.00 from their website.

They are for a BBC, but work just fine with the 455.

Larry H pointed this set out to me and they work and look great!

I bought a set of original Delco wires for $29-30 within the last year. They look and work just fine. Save your money for an x pipe or a 6AL.

I have an open element air cleaner, so no clearance problems. I know about the MSD's, but like I said, I'm on a tight budget and the Accel and Taylor are almost $30 less than the MSDs. The Taylors would be nice if the BBC version fits, otherwise I'll w/ the Accels since they have a set for Buicks.

unless you want the colored wire look, stock wires work fine, unless you are tearing down your moter alot, the after market ones have stronger ends. just my 2 cents

I've run both the MSD's 8.5 and the Taylor Spiramagigs :) (8.0). The Taylors seem like every bit the wire that the MSD's were. I'd go Taylor again......... When I was shoping, I did see that hey had a kit for buick 455...... I'm not sure how they fit since I went the universal route.

    Went w/the Taylors

I was able to get the Taylor catalog from their website in pdf and got the correct part# for a buick 455 application. Summit doesn't list it when you just click the links into their Taylor list, but I was able to bring it up when I searched for it, Tay-74014, the zero standing for black. Totaled up to $50 and change. I wanted to get their clamp style wire seperators, too, but they want almost $20 for them, so I'll just use the clip on ones that I have on it now. Thanks for all the input.
