We've been working on this 1966 GTO for a year and a half. It was a frame off restoration with stock appearance done for a man in Ohio. The only exception is the custom exhaust, which the 400 horsepower roller 389 needed to breath. I'm so proud of this car! Marc Cleek has been wonderful to work for and the whole thing has been a great experience. I can't wait to see my '69 GS400 finished! It's in the shop now but is a long way from this stage! What do you guys think? Yes, It does have "Buicks Rule" written into a few hidden places. I'll supply some more pictures in further replies.BTW-anyone know anyone that may be interested in that Caddy in the background? It's low miles, straight, and nearly rust free.

The car was supposed to be ready for a show on Sunday. It was but the rain kept the car from going.

PHS info showed red lines on 14" steel wheels with these wire hub caps.

The major concession from pure stock appearing was the exhaust system. 3" with an x pipe and Spin Tech mufflers exit thru custom trumpets that Marc Cleek fabricated and then had chromed to look stock.

Any restoration is in the details. This tiger was no exception.

The interior is a mix of new and original but comes off pretty well. A new dash pad is still in the works. We're waiting for Just Dashes to come through on that.

Engine is the original 389 tri power rebuilt by a well respected speed shop named Bischoffs. 400 horse on dyno!

The paint on this car came out really well. It is R-M brand base coat/clear coat with tons of hours color sanding and buffing.

Pontiac V8 takes the same oil filter as our beloved big block Buick.

Thanks for your positive comments! Your right John. and that means a lot coming from you. I believe I took in your great looking ride last year a BPG and they just don't come much nicer than that. Here is a shot of what it takes to get it to that point. This is the car as it appeared last fall. The right quarter had already been off and was back on. We were in the process of welding on the new trunk floor braces for the fuel tank when this shot was taken.

This is cool. There is a junkyard version of the identicle car available in 1/18th. A Fontaine Blue Poly 1966 tripower, four speed, blue bucket seat, convertible!

The car we started with was much nicer than this thank god! These guys do a great job on these model cars. If you go to their website you can view a 1967 GS400 hardtop they've done.
