Speedworld in AZ is having their annual Fall Fest 11/13/10. Lots of cars & good weather. Not a lot of Buicks last year, I was the only GS, but the last Spring event we had 4 GS's :TU: I see TA has stepped up as a sponsor as well, that's good to see.

Hello everyone, my name is Steve Barcak and I am hosting the Fall Fest coming up Saturday November 13 at Speedworld. We will be having a car show with multiple classes, parts swap, special displays, racing and all around good time.
We hope to see a large turnout of Buicks too! ALL years and types of Buicks- Racing, showing and displaying. You can preregister too by printing out this form and mailing it to me.

So far I have a very cool 1951 Buick Police car that will be on display among other things. Of course, there will be plenty of Buick horsepower on display and racing too.
Event t shirts will be available too. If you want one reserved for you in your size, you can do that by ordering one inadvance. They are $15 in sizes up to XL. Larger sizes available too for $17.

I appreciate everyone helping me getting the word out on this event.
Thanks Craig for starting this thread.

No problem Steve, hopefully with the event moved up a little so it didn't fall on Thanksgiving weekend, we'll see even more cars. The show is really one of the best ones we can attend out here in the South West :beer I just need to badger Steve Curry into entering his Olds Starfire in one of the actual brackets instead of just test & tune. Either way it'll be fun, I have to order a new set of slicks to be ready. May see some new personal bests if the weather is as good as it normally is that time of the year.

We will be running 3 brackets at this time plus a time only/test and tune/exhibition/grudge race lane.
    br 1 electronics
    br 2 non electronics
    br 3 trophy street tires

Whether you bring your digger or your Riviera we want you to enjoy yourself.

Can add brackets if there is enought cars and interest.

I am hoping to also bring my '6O powered 389 Pontiac AA/FD to the event to burn a little nitro. Shown here at the Hot Rod Reunion a few years back.
Also have a door car under construction, a '65 altered wheelbase Tempest but, it will not be ready this year.

Here is an exciting fire burnout we did last year with my car.

I met you in Bakersfield when we were working on Dan Horans car when he crashed it. Not sure you remember me or not.

Here are some pics from the event site and last year.

Just ordered a new pair of slicks today so I have some traction and maybe go a few rounds in Non Electronics. Made it to the finals last year.....and then red lit :spank:

Craig if I run the non-electronic class try to take it easy on the lights. I am not used to the lights taking so long to go on. I am used to a yellow flash and gone :3gears: . Remember don't wait for green or your late:laugh: .
I will try to add a new clip to my photo bucket link that shows our wheels up and the back planted before the light is even green.

Steve yes we remember you. We will be there with the injected engine. As we are still waiting for a few small parts for the blown engine.
    Looking forward to it....

Yeah John, last year I red lit, so I've been practicing. I joined the AZ Drag Racing Association and have been running with those guys. They're good on the lights, and I figure that's how you get better, running better drivers! :spank: My last two outings with ADRA I went out first round and that was cutting 0.08 lights both runs. Need a little less reaction time.

Yeah man :TU: Just had my new slicks mounted. Clean the car up Thur & Friday and hit Speedworld Saturday! It's still in the 80's this weekend, I'm hoping it drops into the 70's next Saturday!

Craig not sure if I will be there at the moment. I broke a few ribs the other day and I am not sure about getting in and out of the car at the moment.
I will give you an update in a few days.

Just bringing the cars and some stuff to drink. Probably be too busy to do the grill cook out thing, have to have a few"track steaks". Hopefully we'll go a few rounds like last year :TU: I'll be pitted with a black Olds Starfire ex-Pro stock car.

Craig if I am down there we keep a BBQ in the trailer. So if I am there just bring your food. I will know by Thursday.

Rich I will hopefully be bringing our Nailhead Dragster. Stop by and introduce yourself if you see the attached car there.

John, what happened to you? Hope you will be OK.

As of today, have decided NOT to bring my AA/Fuel dragster. Just do not have enough help to run it this weekend. Everyone who helps me out is having some kind of health problem or another. Maybe we get to run in a few weeks. Really want to take it out and try to better ourselves.

Also, been getting some emails and phone calls about the Fall Fest, mainly Buick and Pontiac guys.
    Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Custom award plaques look real nice, they arrived today.

Will also have a Low ET award to as a little extra. Have no idea who it may be, could be a Buick, an Olds or a Poncho.

Eveyone racing and showing will need to go to our registration canopy set up behind the grand stands to sign in. Racers will get your tech card there.

Still have no real idea of how many racers we will have, only a few preregistered. Without knowing, it is hard to add classes if there aren;t more cars. Either way, we'll have a good time.
See you all Saturday. I'll be there Friday setting up too if anyone is going to run Friday night.

After talking it over with my wife/crew chief, we will not be there:( .
We checked with me in the car and suited up, a little sore but ok. It was when we strapped me in that it hurt some. We are more concerned that if we do have a mishap the left belt goes right across the breaks:eek2: .
We are shooting for the Buick event on the 27th of November at Speed World as the next time out.
To all those going have a great time and try to be safe:3gears:
