Hey guys, I know some of you have used Por15 for your frames. I wanted to know how much I need for my 71 Skylark frame. I here this stuff goes along way. So let me know how much you need pint, quart, gallon, gallons? Thanks guys.

Are you going to spray it or brush it?

Better approach on the frame is blast,..epoxy,..then top coat,..

powder coat is the best option used to be around 1200 to blast and powder

But I will say the gloss por on frames looks like a hot mess if rolled or brushed on

We’ll it’s a self leveling paint, it looks good on a lot of the pictures I’ve seen. I can spray it or brush it.

I prefer the satin finish of Chassis Saver. Basically the same stuff, I might argue better sticking than POR 15

It doesn't self level like you would hope from my experience,..the purple and aluminum plastic cup gravity cup gun from HF is decent and is like $40,...would definitely spray it over brush

So, for spay you will cut it with the POR solvent, meaning you will use a little less. A trick I use is when it starts to tack, maybe an hour after application, spray it with a UV block clear satin spray. The clear will adhere nicely to the POR and cut the gloss to satin. It also protects the paint if any sunlight gets to it.
As an aside, I brush painted a mail box with straight black POR as an experiment. The mail box is in the open, no shade. The POR stayed glossy for almost two years and has slowly tuned flat. It has not failed or peel off though. That was 12 years ago.
