Have I ever got a deal for someone out there..... #1- Poston Valve Cover Set - I purchased this set from Poston back when they still were in business (late 1990’s?) and eventually sent them to SRE (Steve Reynolds) to have the breather hole machined and the threaded bung fitting welded in place. Then later, during my “polished aluminum look” days, I took them to my favorite metal polisher to have him remove the cast fins and polish the valve covers to a high luster. The end result is what may be the most beautiful Poston valve covers out there… And you can be sure that no one has a set just like it. The only time these valve covers were installed was for a mock-up photo session of a BBB on an engine stand with polished aluminum cylinder heads and a polished 2x4 intake manifold. Sure was a beautiful sight. They are in like-new condition with no cracks, gouges or any other signs of damage or wear and tear. Includes ARP polished stainless steel hold down fasteners and a red-anodized threaded bung (i.e., oil fill plug). $250 plus shipping and insurance for the valve cover set, only. (See below for additional pricing information) #2 - Polished Aluminum Air Cleaner Assembly - I purchased it a couple years ago from another forum member because the cast aluminum lid was very thick (1/8+”). My plan was to have the fins machined or polished off the top so the polished air cleaner will match the polished Poston valve covers. However, my health issues dictate that it’s a little late for me to be starting new projects. Take a look at the attached photos and you’ll see the cast stiffeners on the bottom surface of the lid. It’ll take a lot of effort to warp, bend or dent it. It doesn’t appear as though the air cleaner was ever installed on an engine. The components are in like-new condition with no cracks, dirt, gouges or any other signs of damage or wear and tear. Includes the cast lid, 14” pre-oiled cloth filter element, base, hold-down screw and 2-bbl adapter. $125 plus shipping and insurance for the air cleaner, only. Personal check or USPS money order, please. NOTE: Consider purchasing the polished aluminum valve covers and the polished aluminum air cleaner at the same time.
