I've put together a couple new kits this week for the Alternator and Power Steering Brackets found on a lot of our Skylark and GS's. This kit here is for the majority of 1967 - 1970 Big Block Cars. These pcs are designed to work with the same year PUMPS! (Not included) Buick changed all this in 1971 . . . . Kit includes Aluminum Bracket 2) outer Steel Brackets Mounting Hardware Price on this Kit is $155.00 Plus Exact Shipping to your address. Engine Sold Separately Please Note: The outer steel brackets are reproductions that the manufacture has painted Black. For those of you wanting to restore to "Concours Level" you'll need to have these brackets done in phosphate. I may have this done to our offerings in the future however that will affect the price. Would this use the same pump and tank that a big car would have? I have a sf motor in my cutlass and the electra brackets put the pump in my steering box.
IF you have a 1970 SF Motor that still has its original 1970 Pump then yes, these brackets would place the pump where it needed to be to work in the GM A Body cars. IF it has been swapped out at some point then you may have to investigate a bit more as to what year pump it is. Buick change all this in 1971.
Thanks Todd! I'm sure it'll work great, I have a set of your exhaust manifold bolts on the car already, and they were perfect.
Todd, 67-70 power steering brackets were phosphate gray not black. Here is a real old NOS 1378369 I have. I know NOS is not always the same as installed but in this case it matches every one I have taken off. 1971 I have found was the first year for black painted. We need to be real careful if guys are going to use these on concourse cars then the disagreements begin.
Thanks Dave. I'm fully aware of that and we do phosphate our Brackets for our Customers. These Brackets in my kit however are reproduced by TPP and they simply paint them black. I may (At some point) send a bunch out to have the phosphate done to them but that will of course raise the price. So for now, this is the Kit that's being offered with the parts that are available. . . . . I'll make a note of this on my website and this posting though! .
I’m as close to 100 percent as possible on the black for 71 and up. I’ve taken a bunch off junked cars and all were black. That’s all the ones that were on the banjo shaped pump used in 71 anyway. Parts place explains the black!
Lol Interesting. I've wondered if the 71/72 Brackets were Painted or Phosphate like the 70 Brackets. 30 + years and still learning! .
Hello Todd. My black phosphate PS pump hardware (along with the other stuff I ordered) arrived today.... Just in time to put the package under the tree. I can hardly wait to open it tomorrow AM!!! Thanks again for coming through with all the neat stuff.
