I am looking for ideas and/or suggestions... I have a 68 GS400 Convertible. I was going to install power windows. The only power window set up that I have found is from a 69 Skylark Hardtop. Issue... The 68 is a convertible and the 69 is not. The 68 has the wing windows and the 69 does not. Therefore, the windows and the regulators are not interchangeable. Question... Has anyone ever added a 69-72 power window set up to a 68? Does anyone know if the 69-72 can be mounted on the 68 regulators? OR... Does anyone have a 68 power window set up? Thanks, Gil
OR..anyone with a 4 door SEDAN 68-72 with power windows MAY have ideas on wether THAT front door setup would work on Gils 68? o No: Anyone?? Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Wouldn't a check on interchangeability of the power window motors and power regulators (between '68 Convert & '69 HT Coupe) be a good indicator from a standard parts interchange catalog? Also, I have seen complete repro power window conversion kits (windows, motors, wires & switches) from several restoration vendors. They may show the years and interchangeability (or not) info for you and answer the question. Of course, there are people on this board who will know, but one of them will have to find this thread.
64-68 all front motors are interchangeable except 4 dr. hardtop. Keep in mind LH & RH. 66-68 are the same for 4 dr. hardtop. 69-72 are different again. Power regulators for 68 hardtop & convertible are the same but are one year only.
