Its been quiet here lately so I thought I'd add a post. I know we all still pray on our own and with our families. I just figured something new here was in order. So if anyone reads this, take a moment to thank God for something. Lord thanks for..............................................................................................................................................and help us to be good examples of the people you want us to be. Amen.
Good idea Dan!!:TU: I'll add a note of praise also. My youngest brother is just starting his 4th semester of law school, down at Regents University (in VA Beach). He just got 3 out of the 4 grades for the fall semester....all 3 were B+!!!:bglasses: :TU: That's especially good, since those were the hardest classes he'll have to take down there. I think he said the final exams for each of the 4 classes, averaged 4 hrs. each!!:eek2:
Just found out, my brother got an A on the last of the 4 classes he took last semester!!!:TU: :bglasses: :TU: Definitely worth a note of Praise!!
Thanks Dan That was a good post. It's been a while since I stopped and smelled the roses. We all should have much to be thankful for, and it's so easy to take it all for granted and never say "thanks God".:Smarty:
Wow, this has been a bit of a frusterating week, but thanks and praise to God for seeing me through it. I know it's easy to see only the negative things sometimes when they seem to build up, but there are other people who have it much worse than we do, and we need to realize that. It's not easy to put every care and concern in God's hands, but it's something I want to do more of! Instead of grasping things in worry, I should be handing them over in prayer! God Bless you all!
Glen, I think you and I had about the same week! I always stop to remember who is in control and it's definitely not me! He entrusts us with what he feels is best for us and there's always something to learn from a trial we are placed in. I too remember that others are watching how we Christians handle ourselves when these trials occur. I'd like to ask that Christians here lift me up in your prayers. I'm going through some trials at work that had me about ready to quit this week, have had a bad sinus infection for 2 weeks, continued orthopedic problems with my heel spurs/ plantar faciitis/ tendonitis, and have another fare up with my shingles disease. But...... I am still blessed through our Father and the blood his son shed for me and you! I can always stop and look at what Jesus did for us and realize the sacrifice and love shown through that act and also know that so many others in this world that are suffering more than I. We have so much to be thankful for! His grace is always sufficient.
Evans, You certainly have an incredible outlook on your life right now despite the troubling situations you have been placed in! It's very inspirational! You will be in my prayers for sure!
I used to have those 10 years ago, they hurt BAD. I lost my job because of that. (place sucked anyway) But God had opened new doors for me and I started my own business that I still have today. My quality of life is much better. Stay off your feet as much as possible.....try to get your doctor to get you on disability, and go to physical therapy......stretch your aquilies (spelling) tendons daily on an incline board,........tens unit stimulation works wonders......they also used heat on mine and ultrasound. I hope you have insurance, I lost mine when I got canned. (long story) :bglasses:
ortho update Went for my follow up Orthopedic appt today. Orthopedist reviewed recent MRI which shows severe chronic inflammation and tendonitis in r ankle/ foot. Sure didn't expect to be leg casted today!:eek2: He said that immobilizing the areas was the only way for this to heal. Cast X 1 month, PT for another month after that. Sure felt funny driving as foot/ ankle is fixed in a 90 degree position so you must move entire leg to drive. Can't think about disability as I'm sole insurance carrier policy holder and have 3 children (14,11, 2) with another coming in April! Toughest part of this will be getting use to no physical activity as I enjoy running and USTA tennis. Aging sure is a bear, isn't it??
Thanks Dan. Just when my focus is... challenged, I see your post. I thank God for my family. I am so blessed for what I have. I thank God for the people on this board. What a family we have here! I would love to meet you all some day. I would like to ask for healing prayer for my wife who is having trouble with her vocal chords. She is a big part of our worship tream at church and now she is prohibited from singing! I would also like to pray for safe passage for our members who our battling some challenging weather conditions. You guys be careful! MARK
