Prayers needed for a young boy

A good friend of mine in North Carolina and his family are going through a hard time. His adopted son who just turned 16 has been living a rough life for months now. The boy was treated for asthma for years before being diagnosed with acid reflux which in turn was causing breathing problems. Surgery was done to his stomach valve to correct the problem. This led to him not being able to eat properly and follow up visits to the surgeon who would insert a balloon into the area to stretch it. They basically didn't do the job correctly. :af: They then went back in to try and fix the error, but the effort was worthless. Months later, his parents took him to Florida and had a specialist operate to fix the other surgeon's error. This operation resulted in accidentally cutting the main nerves in the boy's stomach causing worse problems than before. Fast forward a few very hard months with the boy trying to live a half-way normal life and more problems strike last week. The boy started heaving more and more utill he was admitted to the local hospital. He then started spitting up bile. Now, he is on a feeding tube and in a constant heave. One more specialist is going to attempt to help him, but his father says this might be the final straw and that there is a good chance the little boy will not make it. Who knows if this surgeon can help or even when he will try? ou:
Almost all of this has happened due to human error. A very young boy may die. The boy's biological father doesn't even come to visit him anymore! My friend has raised this boy for many years now and has given him the love he deserves. They all need your prayers.

 

What a horrible deal...Please supply the young mans name so that we may Pray specifically and directly for him...

John - That's a most unfortunate string of events. I'll praying for them as well.

 

Brandon Buchanan is the boy's name. I spoke with his mother today. She is having a tough time. Doctors have really been giving them the run-around. Duke medical center was one of the places that made a few mistakes. They mistakeably cut a hole in the boy's stomach during operation! As for him having cut nerves in his stomach, the jury is still out on that one. The latest doctor traced all the nerves he could find and never completely verified that. The parent's were told the only specialist for him is in OH. But, they were notified a couple of days back that the doctor he needs to see will be out on vacation so they rescheduled the boy's appointment. Now it has been pushed up to the second week in April. His stomach specialist in Asheville, NC doesn't want him to have to wait that long, but no one can seem to get him in faster. The last surgery 2 weeks back, removed everything that had been done before in prior surgeries. They can only hope this allows his stomach to heal a little better, but so far he is doing worse. He can't even tolerate ice on his tongue now without heaving. The feeding tube is directly coming out of his stomach and the doctor's say it needs to be there 2 weeks, 2 years or even life.
I appreciate all the prayers. His mother told me all the local churches have had him on their prayer lists too. She believes it will all work out for him. Glad to see here optimistic.

I can't imagine how bad he must be suffering. I pray for Brandons healing and wisdom for the next round of doctors and surgeons.
