Primer or Flat black..HELP!

    Hi, i am trying to ecth prime or use 1 layer of flat black paint for the winter beofre i store it..which should i use for rain(car covered but downfalls get thro) and overall outside storage with waterproof(not really) car cover....etch black primer or a layer of paint with out the clear coat...finical problems now but have to paint it with either or.....help

    I'd use an epoxy primer....they shed water better than other primers. PPG's budget line, OMNI, can be had for about $80 for a gallon and a half. Then in the spring, just scuff it up, apply another coat, and it's ready for your primer-surfacer. A metal treatment like Picklex is also a good idea....
