Wonder if the guts of this product would fit into a stock distributor housing.

I'm about to install one of these HEI in a radical 11.1 383 chevy. I have a big roller cam and low vacuum at idle around 8". I will post my thoughts once I get it tuned. Hoping it solves some tuning issues.
My buick I will continue to run stock set up with electric conversion module as like my stock set up. Cool to see some of these in buicks.

I have one of these in my low compression 350 Chevy El Camino. Works beautifully. I’d love to have one for the 430 in my 68 Electra as I’ve had some difficulty getting my curve correct.

I have asked progression ignition about doing custom builds or retrofit kits in the past and he was not interested.

I recently contacted progression ignition again and he said he might build some more Buick distributors next summer. It looks like one could buy the Buick “pro billet” distributor off eBay and the Chevy Progression ignition distributor and merge the two easily, but the cost becomes a little too high at that point.

kdc, looking forward to hearing your results.

I don't see why you would need a custom kit? I thought they made a 455 version of this? Wouldn't that drop right into the 430?

My memory was when this was discussed before they made no Buick 350 version, but that the drive gear was the only part that would need to be swapped out.

Sorry just reread and OP is looking for something different than I thought.

Unfortunately they are not making one for the 455 currently, so currently no dropping it in any BBB or swapping the timing gear for any SBB.

If I could get my hands on one of the imported billet Buick distributors cheap enough, I'd take a stab at swapping the progression ignition Chevy guts into the Buick unit.

I have installed this unit and set up was easy. Just make sure you use the app correctly . Saving and sending the tune to distributor. I struggled a bit as I have very healthy roller cammed 11 to 1 383 engine. Requiring lots ot initial timing . I.made 2 ignition tunes and the secret here is to use the aggressive mode. Idle has cleaned up and test drive it seems responsive. I still need to drive it to really see how it's doing.

I talked with Todd at Progression ignition today. The Buick distributors should be ready in late February or early March.

This is good news. Last time I had contact he said it would be some time next summer. I can wait until spring if I won’t have to try and cannibalize a Chevy distributor. My 430 is super sensitive to part throttle timing and I know this will cure it.

I emailed them about 2 months ago and they told me about the same time frame. My interest was piqued, but over time it has waned. I may check about it again.

    Possibly.
I dont believe ANY company that gives a " Oh, we expect them to be in by such and such a date"
EVERY company has said the same thing to ANYONE who has called and asked for a timeline on an item, they're blowing sand up yer butt.
These companies are scared of losing potential new customers, so they string you along, acting as if everything is normal.
    You'll hear "Supply chain issues"
    WHY??????
All the workers die from a disease?

Same situation here with TA's heads for the 35o, I put a deposit down, nearly two years later, NOTHING was even started on my heads.
They refunded my deposit, no worries.
Im porting my irons, If I were you John, I'd stick with your regular distributor :D

Just for anyone using GS air cleaners, these units are taller than a stock distributor. I removed the bottom portion of the passenger side air box to accommodate the taller unit. See pics. Ted may be able to source a shorter distributor in the future. To me, the distributor is too good to worry about the removal of this bolt on portion of the air cleaner.
