Punched a Pulsar

Heading home fom a 5 hour drive, we pulled up next to a Nissan Pulsar at a red. Fart can, lowered, and P Plates. (provisional licence, only been driving a year or so) I crept up very slowly and came to a halt.Man, I drive a loooong car. Stomped it on the green, and destroyed it. I wasnt even out of 1st (45mph) and it was over. My wife was laughing, saying he was revving the guts out of his car trying to keep up. It was an easy kill, but good none the less to get one on the p-plate race team.

Those 225's are faster than people assume.

Mine surprised more than its share of mustangs.

One other point is your line about "pitying someone running into the back of you". Back in the late 70's I had a 71 Electra and a 240Z ran into the back of it when I was stopped for a school bus. The guy must have been going 45-50 mph because he went completely under my car and my back bumper smashed his windshield and pinned him to the head rest. He actually walked away with only facial cuts and alot of bruises (good seat belts I guess). A couple of more inches and he would have died. Other than scratches, a small crease in the bumper and dent in the gas tank the car was fine. Fortunately I was the only car there, he pushed me forward about 3 feet. The Buick probably saved his life, because if he hit the bus it would have decapitated him. I kept that car till 85 with 278,000 miles without a rebuild on the engine of trans.

    I love those 75-76 Electras.

I learned to drive on a 76 Limited sedan. What a tank! I feel the same way about my 75 Lesabre...I pity anyone hitting me!

Good kill... but don't be too hard on Pulsars, they are cute. I like the older ones. Not fast, but something about them is appealing.

We had a Pulsar when I was in high school. It was an 83' Pulsar NX turbo and that thing was actually pretty quick for a four banger.I raced a 69 Camaro on prom night with it and had it by about 4 car lengths when we had to slow down for the next light.
