I am getting the itch to race again. I haven't done the Pure Stock Drags in about 10 years. I just looked on their website for 2019 information.

Would it really cost me almost $300 just to get my car and family of 5 past the gate? Are there any pure stockers on here that can confirm this?

    Thanks in advance.

yeah, assuming none of the spectators are kids it'd be about 280 for the weekend. A lot cheaper than DisneyWorldLand or anything like that though,,,,,

I may even give coming to watch a shot again, if I can tear myself away from watching Drag Week. Don't get your hopes to high though.

Yeah John. They were in the running up until their 1st. run yesterday. I mentioned I thought they should turn it down more because of the temp. air, etc., which they did, but ran an 8.15. They were in the 8.50 class so they had to tune it down quite a bit. I'll say one thing the car may not look like a beautiful car, BUT it does work!!!! AND on a budget. The class started with 32 cars. As of yesterday morning there were ONLY five left.
Spent time making a trailer hitch & driving it around locally with one six hour road trip total around various venues & all appeared OK.
BUT the real test is they drove it trailer & ALL from CT. to Virginia. THAT WAS THE REAL ROAD TEST!!!! If it didn't pass that they would have abandoned Drag Week altogether & the week will put OVER 1K miles. So in total the car will have traveled more than 2K miles.
What makes it so AWESOME is that the engine was a core 6.2 with about 500 miles on it that was replaced under warranty because the block was cracked. My son Billy fixed it. NO NEW parts other than head studs & a little pocket porting & my son spec-ed the cam after plotting out what he wanted & find someone to build it.
So since their out they are going to go all out & see if they can get it in the SEVEN'S. They were close with an 8.01@170MPH on a previous outing, if I remember correctly, at Attco.
Wish I could have been part of the entire event.

    Tom T.
