There was a guy in California on Ebay that would counterfeit any carb for any car you could imagine. In his add he wouldn't say " original ". Think that is how he got away with it for so long. I wonder how many buyers got " taken " ?
Has anyone actually sold a 246 carb for 4K+. an original 7042942 sold recently for 750 and riv 73 has what appears to be a real restored 7041242 he’s having trouble getting 800 for. Why such a huge money gap between the 70 and later years?
Sounds like a good deal. I don’t think anyone thought they were going to get a 4-5 thousand dollar carb for 800

You don't understand, what Jason meant is that in typical Jason fashion, the seller actually gave him $1300 to take it off his hands. Seriously, that's a smokin' deal. $1500-2k for a '70 246 core is not too far off the mark. Is it a ridiculous amount? Yes, but that's what the traffic will bear as of now.
