I'm swapping out an edelbrock to a Q-jet and want to make sure I'm hooking the vacuum ports correctly. This is how I'm currently setting it up. Seem correct to you?

The PCV and ported connection to the distributor vacuum advance are correct, but I'm not sure about the third one you've got labelled as: "Automatic Transmission." My transmission modulator is connected to a direct manifold vacuum source on the rear of the engine...I'd think your transmission is also connected in the same way.

That third port looks like it could be a bowl vent? Not sure, since my carb doesn't have that 3rd port.

The one labeled 'Auto Trans' is actually for the Air Control Motor in the air breather snorkel. :TU:

The "auto trans" port you have labled is a manifold vacuum port so it would work fine for your modulator if you chose to connect it there.

Usually I hook the trans modulator hose to either a manifold vacuum fitting on the back of the carb baseplate, which yours may or may not have, or a manifold port on the intake.

However you choose to do it, a manifold vacuum source is correct for the modulator signal.

    great looking carb BTW

    LOL. Thanks, Ken.

Yea, the one I have labeled "auto trans" runs off the tube that comes from the tranny. BTW, it's a ST-300 2-speed trans if that helps. My carb does not have the port off the back. So just to clarify, is it ok to run it off where I currently have it?

I'll post a pic of the trans hose.

There is a threaded hole on THE INTAKE MANIFOLD, behind the carburetor, towards the passenger side. The stock set up has a vacuum nipple screwed into that threaded hole. The end of the metal modulator line has a short length of rubber vacuum line that slips over the nipple. BTW, you can run manifold vacuum to the vacuum advance if you like. Try manifold and ported vacuum. See which one you like better, and stick with it.

I dont know a thing about the ST300

but I do know that port is a manifold vacuum port.
