    Hello
In My GS California 350 i got problem with 4BBL Rochester.

When I try to start by giving maximum gas, and pedal come to the floor, car make small burp, and then start but not too fast. I check with my friends same Skylark '68 (with same engine, trans, carb) his car start much much faster. So probably that is problem with carb.

Im thinking to buy rebuilt kit for this carb, and reprair it, or buy remanufactured Rochester. What is better option - buy reprair kit, or new rochester ?

    Thanks

If it's the original CA GS carb, I'd go with a rebuild kit; I'm not sure if there's much difference between this and any other SBB 350 carb, but it'd probably be less expensive.

Rebuild, especially if it is the factory carb. All Q-jets are set up for their specific engine calibration from the factory, and believe me, there are a ton of variations, jetting, metering rods, enrichment cams, etc. Quite probably worn main body at throttle shafts, causing excessive air at idle to leak by blades and idle screw must adjust to "correct" (BTW it does not correct for running, air fuel mix is then off during later phase of running) check other things: vacuum advance, distributor mechanical advace curve, vacuum hoses, basic timing: too many variables to isolate at this distance.

A rebuild kit won't help if the throttle shaft holes are wore you need New Bushings so you don't suck air and dirt in it all Q-jets after so many years need the Bushings in the Base plate.
