Did you do your own trans? Just checking with you. I have a sp400 and want to go to manual valvebody. What valvebody did you use? Any info that you can give me would be great. Thanks, Tom

    Tom,

Yes, I did it on my own, but I must confess that since that was 1987 or so, I don't remember all the details. I visited with an old Hydramatic guy who walked me through it but I lost all documentation in a house fire in '97. I wish I could remember his name.

My trans is a hodge-podge of a Trans Go kit and the mods that he helped me with, including disabling the governor and modulator circuits. Other than that, no aftermarket parts used for the conversion to manual. If I do it again, I'll spring for a reverse pattern. Not good to be shifting 1-2-3-N towards reverse, especially with column shift.

    I'm sorry I can't help beyond that.

I'm just worried about doing something and losing my switch pitch capabilities. Thanks for your quick reply. Later, Tom

The variable pitch function is completely separate from any valve body mods you might wish to make in regards to going towards a manual setup.
