Hey Folks I have the G-body 78 Regal and I want to install a Hydraulic assist rack & pionion steering and I thought someone may have installed a junk yard option that would fit this application relatively easy. I would rather build an adapter system than purchase an aftermarket model. Any suggestions? Slugger
i dont think just bolting up/slightly modding a rack and piion would be a good idea, as you wont have the correct geometry/bumpsteer corrections for your specific car. and truthfuly, an aftermarket r/p isnt worth the $$$ just for a tad but less weight. imho i'd check into just rebuilding the front end and get a 12.1 lee box from scandc.com with perhaps a smaller diameter steering wheel
