Ok I'm hopefully gonna get the Chevy 350 in the Lark fired up soon, but b4 I do, I need a radiator. We just restored a 67 C10 and it took several tries b4 we found a radiator that was actually right. So my ? to you is where should i look for a radiator for my 70 Skylark Sedan?

I'm curious as to why you would put a 350 chevy in a Skylark. Why not a 350 Buick in a Skylark?

I have an original and correct radiator that you could put in the car without an issue but it would most likely cost more to ship than it'll cost to buy a radiator from Advance, Pep Boys, etc.

That's a Buick 350 you have in the Skylark. It's the corrrect way to fly, especially with group. If you want to know what a SBC (small block chevy) power Buick Skylark is worth look at the ebay listing for the 1972 for sale in either ND or SD. I don't think there has been a bid yet.

As for a radiator, I would suggest that price is a primary determinant of the quality of the radiator you get. however, there is a lot of disinformation about radiators as well. I would try to dlean and repair the existing radiator at a radiator repair shop first and then buy a replacement radiator from the raidoator shop or from either 1-800-radiators or the local parts store. Try to get a Modine first or a Visteon second.

If you weren't all the way across the country I'd work something out for the one out of my parts car.

woah, you lost me a little bit, im keeping the buick block yes, maybe it wont do anything too abnormal on me, but i need a new radiator, i dont know what kind the one i pulled out is, but i know my dad had it patched before, and it currently has another hole in it and pours out, it doesnt leak lol

im thinking the 3 core one would be a good radiator

The engine was designed for about 195 degree thermostats. Running an engine too cool is not good just like too running one too hot is not good. What a good radiator is intended to do is give a car the cooling capacity to maintain the ideal design operational temperarture notwithstanding being subjected to a wide range of external operational conditions.

cool jim thanks alot i like to learn details about stuff, and gary thankyou for the suggestion, but i think ill get the 3 core one for 189 shipped, saving weight is nice but my skylark is gonna be aimed at the drag strip, mostly towards girls driveways:)

nothing makes a girl into you more than poppin the hood and telling her the radiator is all aluminum. Their eyes light up and they wont stop staring at you. haha

well maybe not, but their dads will think your cool.. which will actually work against you because chicks always hate the guy their dads like and like the guy their dads hate. ya maybe your right, go for the plastic one.

ya so make sure your car leaks some oil on his driveway too, that will guarantee attraction from the girl when her dad doesnt stop complaining about the ever present oil spot on the dreiveway that he always thinks of you when he sees it and talks smack about you. ITs like billboard. haha The more he disses you the more she calls you .. lol.. geez i miss that... i nver did it on purpose, i just noticed it later when i was older. If i knew then what I know now i would have been unbeatable. ;ha

If you really dont want the dads to like you, borrow some tools and give them back dirty. That always pi$$es me off.
