I have owned my 70 Wildcat a bit over 50 years now. Have kept it nice and made many improvements in the years. Or at least I think they're improvements! When in high school I put a cassette deck in the car and no longer have the original radio. I want to put in a new radio with Bluetooth and possible XM. the interior is 95% original, so I would like to find something that is close to stock appearance, but function is the most important especially since living with hearing aids.
Can anyone point me in a direction that maybe they've had good luck with??
    Thank you for your assistance!

I have a dewalt bluetooth speaker that runs off their 20v line. I use that between all my classics. The sound quailty is really good and it has a USB port to keep the phone charged up. I also have a ton of the 20v tools so it was a no brainer. It honestly works great, I'm not at all interested in updating any of the cars with a permanent sound system. I get that hitched up to the phone and go!

What does the Wildcat radio insert look like? A million years ago, before there was ever a good aftermarket solution for the A body I did this.

Dear 455 Wildcat, Joe, BadBrad, and V-8 Buick owners who are also audiophiles,

I don't know the details for your car, but CustomAutosound claims to have reproduction stereos that would fit into the original dash of your car. Here is the page where you can look up their offerings:

    https://customautosoundmfg.com/make?model=all-buicks

I modified a Custom Autosound stereo to get a very realistic stereo in my trusty wagon. Here is a link to the thread where I documented it:

    https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?t...osound-mods-for-improved-authenticity.268438/

    Another possible source is Retrosound:

    https://www.retromanufacturing.com/

Another possibility is to find a radio "core" for your car and have it either repaired and/or have Bluetooth module installed. There are shops that can do this sort of work for you.

I hope that gives you some ideas to consider.

My plan is to get a correct radio for the car and get it modified for AM/FM stereo plus bluetooth and a usb port. Then I will have the best of both worlds. Factory correct radio with modern features. Haven't done it yet so can't say if it is a good thing to do. But given the number of vendors, it shoud be a good upgrade.
