Rallye Road & Ride Control Packages for 69?

No build sheet and the car wasn't sold in Canada. So I am trying to figure out all the sales codes that would be associated with my car. I've got just about everything done but sales code "H". Is there a way to tell which steering box you have? How about any of the other components? Looks like the only difference between the two is the steering box. Lower control arm assembly includes what? Mine are boxed anyway.

Mike's Production Total Quick Reference Guide is very cool. All the information and option groups can make your head spin. I'm guessing that the Stage 1 package components don't get counted in the other G.S. option groups. The sales code G1 is the performance axle with posi trac and out of Flint it only shows 195 G.S. 400's with it. On the other hand if non-Stage 1 options are on a Stage 1 than it would include the count? If thats the case the closest I could narrow down my car would be by the 4spd (B3) and tilt wheel (S7). G.S. 400 out of Flint totaled 76. They kept track of some odd stuff though, red line export tire + trailer hauling option + chrome plated wheels. Total of "1"! Cool stuff! Thanks for the help! The totals are for the individual options, for example, positraction was included in the stage 1 option and it was also an option on non stage cars so the posi traction totals would only include non-stage cars and then you would have to add the stage car totals to it. If a non-standard posi axle ratio was ordered on a stage car it would be listed under the non-standard axle code option total.

They did keep track of some strange things back then like you pointed out.

P.S....I am glad you like your book

    Brian,

Here are pics of the build sheet and window sticker from my '68 GS400 convertible with Rally Ride Control. The codes should be the same for '69. Hope this helps.

Hey Mike, yes I do like the book! So I'm correct on the B3 + S7 (4spd, tilt wheel) would include my car since neither was an option for the Stage 1 package? Its just a numbers thing, kind of fun wish I knew for sure how many were built like mine. I caught a couple full size pictures of your car, Very Nice!

Donny thanks for the pic's! I wish I had more paperwork to my car. I have a list of the codes for the options I'm just trying to determine what is on my car. I guess it has one of the Control Packages because of the rear LCA's. I thought it might be a good start to determine which one by figuring out which steering box it has. I didn't see any tags on my springs so there is probably no way of telling what they are. If you can see a number on your steering box let me know I would appreciate it! Brian

It is interesting that your 68 sticker is printed on a 67 format sticker. I have seen this before with a '72 GS sticker printed on a 70 sticker format. The factory must have been low on sticker paper that day and just used what they had handy...
